A project where the track was built from the ground up one instrument recorded at a time, including the studios grand piano. This method allows more flexibility in production and arrangement techniques, in effect the studio becomes another instrument that can be used to craft and shape sound.

Afro Cuban choir featuring 25 singers and 3 piece bata percussion group all recorded together. An example of the large live room being used to full capacity to capture the expansive sound of a multilayered group in all its glory.

An experimental Jazz outfit featuring Saxophone, Drums, Double bass, Keys, and Electric Guitar. To capture the dynamic interplay between the band it was vital they could play together completely live with full visual contact while tightly controlling spill between instruments. Getting the room set up right is key, finding the right balance between vibe and mic choice and placement.

Written for Lo Editions, our favourite leftfield library which is owned by Universal, this simple dittie packs an nostalgic emotional punch conveyed perfectly by Molly Higgins vocal performance. The wistful lyrics combine with guitar and Uke to evoke the projects theme of summer.

This collaboration with Jonny Desai showcases electronic, orchestral and piano arrangements and was selected as track 1 on the album ‘Darkly Delicate’.

Our brief from BMG asked for:
‘ Sparse & delicate Scandi & Nordic noir tracks with emotive depth that should fit perfectly under modern drama.’

Superb performances from Cellist Liz Hanks and Violinist Clare Stanley really helped us reach the sound we were looking for.

Sometimes it’s great to create with no prior ideas and just a bunch a bunch of mics, pedals and kit etc and see where the mood takes you. This piece was conjured in studio 2 with long time collaborator ‘Lee Gretton’ whose drumming and Guitar energy is captured in a series of improvisations.

When asked by one of our publishers to create several sideways pop tracks, we began playing with some drums we had created on analogue synths. The Stranger things series served as inspiration  for us to use our Juno and Oberheim synths to create some retro pads and the vocal started to emerge. Incredible Local singer Tiger Cohen Towell was just right for the synth pop sound and captured the mood of the song brilliantly.

We had the pleasure of mastering this incredible Debut EP from Jazz Pioneer Pete Beardsworth. Much of the volume on this EP was achieved from saturation from our Thermionic Phoenix Compressor and Gyraf G14 Eq.
